I’m Josie, and my artistic journey has been anything but traditional. For as long as I can remember, I’ve enjoyed tapping into my creative side and making things. My diaries as a young child had just as many doodles in them as they did words (sometimes more). As a teenager, I began to create scrapbooks to document my high school memories and then as a young adult I learned how to crochet. My specialty was making dresses for bed dolls (remember those?).

In my late twenties I landed my dream job with a local engineering firm. There I spent the next decade designing and preparing architectural blueprints for residential and commercial properties. I enjoyed that work because it offered me the opportunity to be both analytical and creative. Then in 2012, I moved into the corporate world where I continued to channel my artistic energy in new and exciting ways, such as creating stunning PowerPoint templates, design thinking, and data visualization. (Leave it to me to turn an Excel spreadsheet into art.) It didn’t matter what job I had, I always found a way to be imaginative and let my creativity shine. I also found ways to be creative outside of the workplace, learning how to work with different types of medium from graphite drawings and acrylic painting to sculpting with polymer clay and cake fondant. Let’s just say, I like to keep my creative plate full and colorful.

What started as a creative hobby became a driving force in my life and led me to pursue a formal education. In 2024, I enrolled at the University of Maryland Global Campus to study Graphic Communications with a minor in Web and Digital Design. I don’t know what the next steps in my artistic journey are, but for now I am completely immersing myself into this world and letting my creativity take the lead.

My passion lies in bringing ideas to life in fresh, fun, and unexpected ways. Thanks for stopping by! Feel free to stick around, explore, and maybe even say hello!
